The Velvet Box

by Tina Sederholm

Tina Sederholm’s first collection. Seventeen poems in which Tina explores love, sex, chocolate, holidays and the wisdom of choosing ‘poet’ as a career. She navigates a path between our ideals and reality, seeking to make something useful and heartening out of what she discovers. Sometimes she’s funny, at other times poignant, yet somehow always finds a way to the nub of things. Currently unavailable.

Spring

by Fay Roberts

Fay Roberts’s first collection. In April 2013, peripatetic, percussive poet Fay Roberts took up the National Poetry Writing Month challenge to write 30 poems in 30 days. After discretely ditching some, tidying the others, and adding a few more, Allographic Press is pleased to present this collection of poems covering a wide variety of forms, inspired by everything from art and mythology, through public transport and civil disobedience, to love and the eternal hope of Spring. Last few physical copies available via the shop or on kindle.

Alchemy, Treasure and Butterfly Wings

by Hannah Chutzpah

Hannah Chutzpah’s first collection.

This is for the women who’ve stopped counting calories
And started counting stars

Performance poet Hannah Chutzpah looks at festivals, feminism, love, loss, childhood, protest, and Tetris as a relationship analogy.

“By turns comic and poignant, political and surreal, Hannah’s poetry made the audience laugh and made them think, a dangerous combination.” – Literary Ely

Currently unavailable.

Logophilia

by Fay Roberts

Fay Roberts’s second collection due to being fed up of telling everyone who asked “No, that one’s not in the pamphlet… nor that one…” Fay pulled together a selection of zir favourite performance pieces and some more obscure, or newer, works.

Allographic Press is pleased to present this collection of pieces which travel through mythology, history, media, music, art, different forms of love and passion, and our deeper connections to nature and the world…

Available in hard copy via the shop and via kindle.

Let Your Dog Out

by Tina Sederholm

Inveterate dog-lover and poetic philosopher Tina Sederholm’s second collection, in which she invites us to imagine what might happen if you let your dog out from time to time (and what might happen if you don’t). A meditation on perfectionism and societal pressures. Currently unavailable.

Stream-Speaking

by Amber-Page

My voice is a home-cooked stew,
Of meat, or veg, or bread, or shoe,
Whatever you can find and vaguely chew,
I’m not fussy on what goes in the brew…

Performance poet Amber-Page explores language, home, and belonging in this collection of pieces spanning family, history, culture, and faith.

“Watching her perform is like watching a firework display on the stage. The room fizzes and gasps…” – Mark Grist

Allographic Press is delighted to present this debut collection celebrating a unique sense of place. The last few physical copies available via the shop.

What If Stars

by Beth Hartley

I come from: all points north where the sea comes in, birds rise on the seam of water, air and land; where the sacred calls to me…

In this debut pamphlet, Beth Hartley brings us a stunning set of words conjuring home, history, place, and family; deceptively softly spoken, with all the strength at its core we’ve come to associate with her work.

“What if Stars is a gorgeous, lyrical collection, exploring the intersection between our physical and emotional landscapes, and Beth Hartley’s writing draws the reader in with its beautiful descriptions and fierce, uplifting warmth. Shot through with empathy and compassion, these are powerful poems that will stay with you long after you’ve finished the final page.” – Leanne Moden

“There’s so much light in Beth’s words. This collection feels as though it should be weightless.” – Mark Grist

Allographic Press is delighted to present this debut collection exploring how we exist between the liminal and lists. Physical copies available via the shop and ebook via Lulu.

Amplify

by Janine Booth

Janine Booth’s seventh collection.

Amplify the voices that rarely get a hearing. Power up the megaphone and drown out the jeering. Amplify and magnify the voices that are hampered by calcifying attitudes and patronising platitudes…

Janine Booth has dedicated her life to magnifying the words of the marginalised, empowering the overlooked, and amplifying important voices in constant danger of being drowned out, in a seemingly unstoppable mission of truth against power. In this collection we get to see determination, rage, grief, wryness, and a surprising amount of much-needed humour and affectionate silliness in these difficult times.

Joelle Taylor calls it: “Classic spoken word from the one of the UK’s foremost original ranters.”

Phill Jupitus says: “This collection of poetry covers a dazzling range from the righteous fury of the ignored and oppressed to the glorious playground of the daft and all points between. There are poets who can do it, but the better ones are those who mean it. Janine Booth means every word. Read loud.”

Rick Dove enthuses: “Amplify is a fizzling firecracker of collection, combining acerbic wit and righteous ire with lyricism to create something explosive. Both irreverent and yet deeply sincere, Janine Booth has mastered a difficult balance with aplomb.”

Allographic Press is frankly ecstatic to produce this rallying cry to the dispossessed by such an experienced and dedicated author, and we look forward to sharing the ebook and audiobook soon. Available via the shop.

I Am Not a Robot

by Ann Atkins

Ann Atkins’s debut pamphlet explores the highs and lows of being human. Since her first open mic in 2018, these poems have been written, performed, and refined into a definitive collection. Liberally sprinkled with humour, Not A Robot carefully observes topics such as childhood, loss, mental health, and ageing in ways that will resonate with readers as strongly as they have with audiences.

“Ann is a master at observational poetry. In Not a Robot, we are invited into the poet’s world but often find ourselves thinking ‘ah, yes, I recognise myself here!’ Well-written and relatable, we journey through the familiar presented in insightful new ways.” – Emilie Lauren Jones, Coventry Poet Laureate 2021-23

“I loved reading this – each poem felt like a personal circuit-breaker, freeing me up from the daily routine. Loosen your cogs, pull out your pistons & byte down on this electric celebration of individuality & human connection.” – Mark Grist, Poet, Author, International Battle Rapper, Workshop Facilitator, Podcaster

Allographic Press is delighted to present this debut collection taking readers on a lyrical adventure through the highs and lows of adulthood, identity, memory, and all the messy, brilliant bits that make us human. Available as an ebook via Lulu.

Monstrous

by Tom Juniper

Tom Juniper’s second collection is a gathering of poems from the point of view of sundry folkloric creatures.

”There are playful, grotesque, mischievous, predatory and melancholy characters in these poems, but more than that, there’s a mirror both honest and warping held up at the world of the reader. This collection is a a sometimes joyful, sometimes cutting invitation to join in the conviviality of the strange” – Tim Ralphs
