Open Mic

So, what’s Allographic Open Mic then? It’s a simple concept really – a lyrical invasion of a lovely bar; a stage, a microphone, a bunch of lovely people, and some words. Entry is free, but we take a donation (i.e. pay as you like). Doors are at 6:30pm and the gig kicks off at 7pm UK Time. All our sessions are currently on Zoom only (until we can find a physical venue that allows us to do hybrid events). You can book your tickets via Eventbrite here. If you would like to enter the open mic, please fill out the form.

This event is for participants who are at least 16 years old.

So – come and show us what you’ve got: step up to the open mic or enjoy the talent on display (ideally both, of course!). Pretty much anything goes, as long as you respect the audience and the ethos of the evening!

Bring your poems, stories, dramatic monologues (or duologues!), improv, hip hop, and anything else that fits the bill of spoken word. And if you fancy learning something new that afternoon, try out the Allographic Write-In, 2-5pm UK Time every Sunday.

We’ll also be showing off (well, talking about and giving you links to) our publications, and telling you about the other lovely spoken word things we know of that run virtually.

Entry is free but you will have an opportunity to pay what you think the event was worth afterwards (virtual hat will be passed around). Money raised goes towards our costs (Zoom is not cheap!).
